Welcome to the Corren Foundation - Supporting Queer
Education in Canada.
The mandate of the foundation is to support queer education in Canada by making grants available to individuals and groups whose goal is to progress society’s understanding and appreciation of queer culture and history in a manner that is positive and progressive.
The term "queer" is used so as to be inclusive of all sexual and gender minorities without putting one identity above another.
"...homophobic bigotry and the heterosexist system will vanish in large part because the attitudes, values, and behaviors of young people in schools will change and that schools themselves must play a role in both encouraging and informing that transformation. First, however, a critical mass of educators must accept the principle that people of all sexualities have equal worth and deserve equal status in safety, voice, affirmation, and curricular representation." Arthur Lipkin, Beyond Diversity Day
